She explained the old chinese technique of shiatsu to the audiance and she talked about how this cultural heritage from the Far East has been adopted by Western cultures. A shiatsu treatment for volunteers stood at the end of her performance.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Right after this, the Silkroad Outdoor Team took over for a lecture about new forms of mobility, explaining the advantages of electro-mobility for mega cities like Istanbul which are suffering from daily traffic chaos. Tourist and local people got the chance to test one of the innovative Raleigh electro-bicycles by making a short tour around the Galata Tower and through the streets in the neighbourhood. "Most of our visitors were highly impressed to experience how comfortable it is to climb even the steepest sections of the narrow streets of old Beyoglu", Silkroad biking expert Sven Strube stated after this first of two mobility events.

Prem Dorji Lama from West-Nepal joined the Silkroad Outdoor Team. In May 2010, Prem stood on top of Mount Everest, being the first climber from his home region Humla Karnali to reach the summit of the world´s highest mountain.

It should be just a brief market test but it turned out to be quite an encouraging success. A pile of Silkroad-CD´s, brought to Kathmandu by Bruno Baumann and Michael Strohmann on their latest trip to Nepal, was sold out after a couple of days.
