Varna says "Welcome" to the Silkroad Caravan
Kiril Yordanov, mayor of the city of Varna, Prof. Dr. Gerd-Winand Imeyer, honorary consul for Bulgaria in Germany, and Nedialko Nedelchev, honorary consul for Germany in Bulgaria, attended the opening ceremony in Varna´s beautiful sea garden park. They described the Silkraod project as a unique effort with a lot of potential to open up new forms of dialogue between Eastern and Western cultures.

Kiril Yordanov and Nedialko Nedelchev even took a spontaneous ride on the brand new Raleigh electro-mountainbikes which are part of the project`s mobility program. "It is this sort of information about new technologies and new ways of cross-cultural thinking we are looking for", Mr. Yordanov stated.

On the evening of the opening day, Bruno Baumann has made a multimedia presentation about the goals of the Silkroad Experiences project at Varna´s city hall. Many young people joined the audience, asking questions, including a striking and encouraging one: "How can we become part of this project?"

While the art workshops, the shiatsu lessons, the Silkroad exhibition and the biking tours have been started already, the Silkroad Ensemble is still waiting for its first open air concert. It will be staged close to Varna´s city beach. And even before this first of three concerts, the debut-album of the multicultural music ensemble is already selling well in Varna.
