The mobile Oasis
The new Silk Road is not a network of caravan roads anymore. It has become an intercontinental link with railways and roads and big highways. Our modern caravan is a fleet of off-road vehicles with pulled trailers. In addition, the caravan will supply two vans and one media vehicle especially equipped.
The off-road vehicles will carry the expedition members and enable the outdoor team to part from the main caravan, in order to reach the regions where the Silkroad Outdoor Experience take place, which are away from the main roads. The Silkroad media vehicle is a mobile communication center equipped with satellite communication, editing stations for film processing, as well as workstations for editorial work.
The two vans and the trailers will carry the ‘event yurt’, which comprises 300 square meters. They will also carry the stage, sound, and lighting equipment. Moreover, they will transport the equipment for the outdoor activities, and also an original Mongolian yurt.
The Event-yurt
The yurt was designed especially for Silkroad Experiences. With its circular shape, it represents an icon that resembles an original yurt. It will be our platform for cultural events, the Silkroad dialogues and the concerts of the Silkroad Ensemble. There, information on the Silk Road: Roads of Dialogue, will be available through audiovisual material. The visitors will find interactive elements through which they can participate in Roads of Dialogue.
The architecture of the yurt is optically appealing and convinces by its lightweight construction. The event yurt can be demounted and erected quickly. In order to make a link to the original architecture, this mobile communication platform is accompanied by an original yurt from Mongolia, which will be the ground for different workshops.
